Donovan's Pottery

Dale’s pottery studio and gift shop is open year-round. You’ll be able to select from many different styles and colors of mugs, bowl, plates, platters, trivets, and specialty items, including decorative wall art celebrating nature and the beauty of Oregon. In the true spirit of community, if you are visiting the workshop after hours, please leave the cash or check for your purchase in the designated area inside the studio.

While serving in the military, Dale not only had the opportunity to travel the world, he spent time in digs & ruins in Turkey and found shards of pottery that inspired him. He completely fell in love with the art form and subsequently completed an Art degree at Oregon State University (OSU), with an emphasis in ceramics, and began to actively create functional art for people to use and enjoy. He is inspired by the colors and beauty of the Oregon landscape and loves creating beautiful objects in both form and function. Both guesthouses on the property showcase Dale’s work and Dale encourages visitors to stroll through the pottery shop and studio during their visit.

Every year Donovan’s pottery shop and studio participates in the Philomath Open Studio Tour. For two weekends in October, you can take a free, self-guided tour around the local area of approximately 38 local artists and their work spaces. It is a unique opportunity to visit with artists in their studios, see completed work and work in progress, and discuss where they find their ideas and inspiration. It’s an annual tradition in the area!
